Protect your joints and lower extremities

No cardio allowed … for now

Until you lose the excess weight, cardio and other heavy-duty cardio activities are on hold because those extra pounds are difficult on the body and, in particular, the joints. For every 10 pounds of extra weight you carry, it places 50 pounds of additional pressure on your lower extremities, which can lead to injuries.

Which activities are acceptable?

Even when someone is carrying extra weight, it’s fine to engage in yoga, walking, lifting weights and other minimal activities. But no cardio.
